"Ronald Bell has returned from Canada. Mrs. Ronald will not make her home in the west until June. He brought with him a new kind of wheat called the Russian Belle, which cost him $1 per pound.".

From the Jamestown Weekly Alert, February 2, 1901.

"Ronald Bell's Barn Burned. Redfield, Feb 2 -- (Special to the Argus-Leader)-- The large livery barn belonging to Ronald Bell was totally destroyed by fire Thursday night. All the horses and most of the carriages were saved. TYhe A.W. Greenman residence anc New Central house were for a time in danger of being consumed, but the fire was confined to the barn. The loss will amount to about $3,000, partially covered by insurance. An Automobile belonging to Brown Bros. of Aberdeen was rescued from the flames after the building was ready to collapse.".

Travelling with them was Thomas Wildridge Bell, a son of Angus - this provides a link, presumably a family link, between John and Angus.".
