"Edward Dondero, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Dondero, South Lafayette, is at home on a furlough from the Great Lakes Training Station, where he has been in training since he enlisted November 8th. Through study and hard work, he has been promoted to the rank of Junior Commander of Company I, Seventh Regiment, and has 72 men under his command. He is deeply interested and enjoys his work, and thinks the Navy is a splendid opportunity for young men.".

Wilcox, having been called here on account of the death of her sister, Mrs. Gladys Wilcox-Mack. Her husband, Edward Dondero, is in Los Angeles, but expects to return to Royal Oak in the fall.".
