March 1, 1939 - "Mrs. Lidah Hubbard, of Mansfield, has announced the marriage of her daughter, Wilda, to Lieut. Theodore R. Aylesworth, Feb. 15, in the Post Chapel, Randolph Field, Texas.
Mrs. Aylesworth is a graduate of the Mansfield High School and Mansfield State Teachers College. For the past 4½ years she has taught in the high schools at Millerton and Charleston.
Lieut. Aylesworth is a graduate of the Mansfield State Teachers College and on Feb. 1 was graduated at Kelly Field, Texas, receiving his commission as a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Reserve. Lieut. Aylesworth was formerly a member of Company E, 103rd Medical Regiment of Mansfield.
Lieut. and Mrs. Aylesworth who have been visiting Mrs. Ayelsworth's mother, left Thursday for Langly Field, Va, where Lieut. Aylesworth will be stationed for some time.".

July 18, 1934 - "Wilson R. Hubbard, aged 70 years, a former Tioga County Treasurer, died July 7, at the Blossburg hospital after a long illness; burial at Mansfield. Mr. Hubbard was born in Richmond township, son of Mr. and Mrs. Delos Hubbard. He was an invalid for many years, due to an injury to his back, but during his later life had almost completely recovered.
Since entering the hospital on April 2, he submitted to two operations and his many friends were hoping that he was making progress towards recovery. Early July 7 he suffered a heart attack, and he died before his relatives could reach his bedside.
Wilson Hubbard was the son of Delos W. and Roxania Burley Hubbard and was born in Richmond Township, January 15, 1864. He was graduated from the Mansfield State Normal School in 1882 and from Coleman's Business College in 1885. He taught four terms of school, one at Elk Run, two at Little Marsh, and the fourth near Mainesburg, known as the Doud school. After graduating from the business college he was offered a position on it's faculty but refused it to teach at Little Marsh in order to be nearer home.
While working in the woods he received an injury to his back in June, 1887. For 15 years after he was unable to walk and never fully recovered from the effects of the accident.
On March 17, 1909 he married Lidah, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Sparling. Mr Hubbard was for many years a faithful member and efficient worker in the Mansfield Methodist church. The funeral, which was conducted by Rev. D.W. Baylis, was held in the Mansfield Methodist church. The pallbearers were: C.C. Howe, E.L. Fuller, G.B. Strait, Charles Hawley, W.H. Killbore and B. Smith. The large number present and the beautiful floral pieces testified to the high regard in which he was held. The unwavering courage and Christian fortitude with which he bore his suffering will always be remembered by his friends.
He was secretary of Grange Mutual Fire Insurance Company for may years, was active in Grange work and served as County Treasurer from 1924 to 1928. For the past several years he had been employed by Elwin C. Hawk as Manager of Hawk's East avenue garage. He is survived by his widow, two children, Lawrence and Wilda, and a brother, Clarence Hubbard.".

March 17, 1909 - "Wilson R. Hubbard and Lidah Sparling, both of Richmond township, were married at the home of the groom on March 17th by Charles Spaulding, Justice of the Peace of Knoxville.".

September, 20, 1944 - "Stephen A. Sparling, aged 84 years, of Mansfield, died Friday, Sept 15, at his home. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Lena Bailey Sparling; three sons, Ward, Leonard, Hugh, all of Mansfield, R.D.; and two daughters, Mrs. Lidah Hubbard, and Mrs Cass Lamphier, of Mansfield; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday at the home; burial in the Cherryflats cemetery.".

November 13, 1907 - " Enjoyable Birthday Party
Mr. and Mrs. Elmiron Bailey and daughter, Helen, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Grosjean, attended a pleasant surprise party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Bailey in Covington, on Monday, given in honor of Mr. Bailey's 82nd birthday. Among the thirty-five relatives and friends who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ford and family, Miss Mary Bailey and Lloyd and Clyde Simerson, Mr. and Mrs. Sampson, Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox, Mr. and Mrs. Stephenson, Stephan Sparling and family.
A bountiful dinner was served. Mr. Bailey is one of the oldest and most highly esteemed citizens of Covington. He enjoyed the day as well as did his 21 grandchildren and the happy day will be long remembered by his many friends and relatives. Mr. Bailey was presented with a gold watch."
May 12, 1909 - "DOUBLE FUNERAL SUNDAY.
Father and daughter Died of Pneumonia - Burial Sunday.
Mr. William A. Bailey, aged 83, died at this home on Elk Run, about two miles below Cherryflats, at 10 o'clock last Friday morning, of pneumonia, after a week's illness. He caught cold during the recent severe storm and a few days afterward pneumonia developed.
Mr. Bailey was a son of Sylvester Bailey, deceased, one of the pioneers of Rutland township and he was born in Rutland on November 11, 1825.
He was twice married, his first wife being Sarah Bailey, a daughter of the late Clark W. Bailey She died about 52 years ago. To them was born one daughter, Mary, who died of pneumonia at her father's home at 12:30 o'clock on Saturday morning last, May 8, after a very short illness, aged 58 years. She was born in Charleston on December 8, 1850. She was a member of the Cherryflats Methodist church and was a woman of many beautiful traits of character.
Mr. Bailey's second wife who was Miss Lydia Hotchkiss, is dangerously ill with pneumonia. Of their four children, three are surviving - E.H. Bailey, of Delmar; Mrs. Stephen Sparling, of Richmond, and Mrs. D.H. Ford, of Covington. Their other daughter, Laura, wife of Mr. Lafayette Simmerson of Covington, died about two years ago.
Two sisters and one brother also survive Mr. Bailey - Mrs. Lucy Aylesworth, wife of William Aylesworth, of Blossburg, Mrs Abigail Burnside, of Covington, and Mrs. Constant Bailey, of Wellsboro.
Mr. Bailey was a member of the Cherryflats M E church and of Aurora Grange, No. 874, of Cherryflats. He was one of the substantial and respected citizens of the vicinity in which he resided for so many years and his death is mourned by a host of friends. He was a veteran of the Civil war.
The funeral was held on Sunday at 2 p.m., and services were largely attended. Rev, J.E. Tallant officiating; burial on the Cherryflats cemetery.".
