22 Sept, 1913 - "PLASTER FALLS IN HOMES - One Man May Die As Result of Shock From Crash.
Israel Flax, 1237 St. Matthew street, who was critically ill with cancer, suffered a severe hemorrhage
when the ceiling of the sick room fell upon him yesterday morning. His physician, Dr. N.J. Baylin, 212 Alequith street, holds out no hope for his life.
Several lives were endangered and showcases in an oyster saloon were smashed Saturday night when about 80 square feet of plaster fell at 836 North Rotland avenue. William H. Pridgeon, the proprietor, had his hat dented in, but he was not injured. Eight customers, who were waiting for oysters, had just gone into another room when the ceiling fell. Some of the plaster was nearly three inches in thickness.".
